UK comic Gordon Southern is no stranger to Adelaide. He liked the place so much he married a local & has been splitting his time between London & Adelaide for the past 6 years. A brilliant observational and imaginative comic veteran for more than 15 years, this will be a global show with a local feel...and with his skills at improvising no two shows will be exactly the same.
In 2009, he performed his first solo show at the Adelaide Fringe “The Unofficial Annual” after several years of hosting and starring in the “Best of the Edinburgh Festival” line-up at The Gov. It was such a successful season, the international word-clown can’t wait to return to tickle our funny bones once again.
"One of the best in the business... Be prepared for more than a few good laughs." DB, Adelaide 2009
His new show ‘Borders’ is like google earth with jokes. It tackles boundaries ranging from huge international ones through rivers and mountains, rabbit proof fences and the Berlin Wall right down to the tiny borders you erect in your own head which Southern gleefully breaks down with his engaging and spontaneous style.
“One of the Top 10 Edinburgh Comedy shows 2009” The Independent (UK)
Unique amongst his peers for performing shows that are seemingly just an hour of jokes and stories, they subtly unfold into a series of satisfying narratives, full of hidden gems that you only find in your pockets after the show.
“Stellar stand up.... So charming you want to take him home to Mother.” The Age 2009
2009 saw Southern tour to India, Singapore, the UAE, South Africa, France, Cyprus & Spain + he has continued to be in demand right across the UK. He’s featured on the Comedy Channels’ “Stand Up Australia” and toured to every state (except Tasmania).
